Route 53 Overpass

Where Rt. 53 passes over the NS Pittsburgh Line. This is the location where track #1 parallels back up with tracks #2 and #3. This location also showcases 5 tracks, instead of the usual 3. On the south (Track 1) side of the RR and bridge, there is a path that brings you to a overlook, which gives a great view of all 5 tracks curving to the east, towards Gallitzin. This also cuts out the noise from traffic on Rt. 53. Lighting is good for trains in either direction in the AM on the south (Track #1) side, and good in the PM on the north (Track #3) side of the tracks. This location also provides good warning for trains approaching from both directions. Westbounds can be heard calling the signals at CP-UN in Gallitzin, and eastbounds can be heard calling the signals at CP-MO in Cresson.
